The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act provided approximately 25.7 million dollars
in Workforce Investment funds to the eleven Workforce Development Boards of Wisconsin. These funds will be utilized to provide employment and training services to youth, adult, and dislocated workers. The Workforce Development Boards in Wisconsin are working very hard to ensure that all ARRA funds are spent in a transparent, efficient, and effective manner.
Every three weeks the Workforce Times newsletter
provides legislators with an update of the statewide ARRA Workforce Investment Act data and stories. Each issue reflects the massive amount of work that has been done in getting the Summer Youth Employment program up and running as well as getting services to those who need it most.
ARRA places a high emphasis on creating jobs by building on our nations infrastructure
needs and those which are important to community development. Each newsletter includes multiple stories of youth, adults, and dislocated workers who are already hard at work making their communities stronger.
We hope that you find the information provided helpful in understanding the role that ARRA Workforce Invesment Act funds will play in the state of Wisconsin . As always, the Workforce Development Board leaders welcome questions or comments from legislators.
